Bundaberg City Council

 Located in North Bundaberg, the Botanic Gardens cover an area of 27.4 hectares. Since 1986, more than 10,000 trees and shrubs have been introduced. Lakes central to the gardens create a habitat attracting some 114 species of birds. A wedding chapel, plant nursery, picnic facilities and childrens playground enhance the area while boardwalks allow the gardens to be enjoyed at leisure.

Bundaberg's first railway station is proudly maintained as a railway historical museum. Entrance is at the corner of Wilmot and Station Sts North Bundaberg. External displays of old rolling stock, internal displays of office records, loco and maintenance items. A large collection of photographs and historical data as well as a collection of uniforms.

Formerly the Botanical Gardens Railway, The Australian Sugarcane Railway provides coal fired steam loco rides for the family. Operated by volunteers from the Bundaberg Steam Tramway Preservation Society Inc. The ride takes you twice around 1 km of 610 cm gauge track. The fleet consists of Steam locos "Old Germany" built in Germany in 1914; "Invicta" a English Fowler built in 1911; "No3" Bundaberg Foundry 1952 and "No 1" Bundaberg Foundry 1950.

A bicentennial gift from the Bundaberg Sugar Company, relocated Fairymead House overlooks the Botanic Gardens. Built in 1890, the homestead houses the Sugar Museum, exploring the development of the Sugar Industry from the earliest days.

Visit Hinkler House Memorial Museum, the home of Bert Hinkler: Pioneer Aviator, Test Pilot and World Record Holder. In 1983, the Southhampton home was brought to Bundaberg and restored, brick by brick.
