Bundaberg Arts Centre
Originally opened in 1902 as BUNDABERG CUSTOMS HOUSE. The building is of red brick and plaster construction - Fischer's Bricks made in Bundaberg from a clay quarry and brick works once in production on the site of Salter Oval. During 1921, the COMMONWEALTH BANK moved into the premises and remained until 1978. During the bank's ownership the imposing outside of the building was altered to the detriment of the original architectural style. On March 3, 1980, BUNDABERG DISTRICT PUBLIC LIBRARY opened in the old Customs House and remained there until BUNDABERG CITY COUNCIL LIBRARY opened in 1994. On September 18, 1995, $437,000 of refurbishing commenced and the building was officially opened as Bundaberg Arts Centre. Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday; 11 a.m to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Schmeider's Cooperage
Established in 1983, this Queensland State Tourism Award winning tourist attraction keeps alive the ancient skill of cooperage - barrel-making. At the cooperage various crafts persons also demonstrate daily their skills. These include but are not limited to, jewellery, pottery, furniture making, leatherwork, whipmaking, blacksmithing, spinning and weaving, water colour painting, china painting, ceramics, silk painting etc. Mon to Fri 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sat and Sun, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Steam Tramway
Coal fired steam loco rides for the family. Operated by the Bundaberg Steam Tramway Preservation Society. Twice around 1 km of 610 cm gauge track. Steam locos "Old Germany" built in Germany in 1914; "Felin Hen" American Baldwin Company 1917; "3" Bundaberg Foundry 1952. Sundays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; extra days Qld school holidays.

Providing superb views of the Burnett River from the south bank, the zoo presents a collection of birds and animals especially appealing to children. Tables and seating; coin operated BBQ's; childrens' adventure playgrounds. Visit the huge cacti garden.
Sloping Hummock
Eight kilometres from the city centre. This feature is a dormant (not extinct) volcanic cinder cone, 96m in height. Named on August 7, 1799, by one of England's greatest navigators, Lieutenant Matthew Flinders, RN. This elevation provides an excellent and breathtaking panorama of the City of Bundaberg and surrounding district. Spectacular sights are assured during the evening when sugarcane fires are lit.

| Bundaberg Rum Distillery
The Bundaberg District is the only place in Australia where all facets of sugarcane production occur, from the growing and harvesting to the milling, refining, distilling and research. Tours to view the Rum Distillery process are available. In recent years Spring Hill House, the original homestead from Spring Hill Plantation, was relocated in the grounds. Lovingly restored the building houses a museum, souvenir shop and a bar where visitors can partake of the famous Bundaberg Rum, Bundaberg Rum Royal Liqueur, Bundaberg Rum and Coke and a traditional Bundaberg drink, Dark and Stormy - Bundaberg Rum and Bundaberg Ginger Beer. tours - week days 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. (every hour); weekends and public holidays 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. (every hour)
Hinkler House Museum
The Southampton (England) home of Bundaberg pioneer aviator, Bert Hinkler. Relocated from England to Bundaberg and brick by brick fully restored. A unique aviation museum. Winner of 1985 Queensland Tourism Award Major Tourist Attraction. Bundaberg Botanical Gardens; daily 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Qld school holidays 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.; closed Christmas Day, Good Friday, Anzac Day.

Fairymead House Sugar Museum
Fairymead house, built in 1890 to an Indian bungalow plan, was originally the home of the Young family, owners of Fairymead Sugar Mill and Plantation. During 1984, Bundaberg Sugar Company gave the home to the City of Bundaberg as an Australian Bicentennial gift. Relocated to Bundaberg Botanical Gardens, the homestead is now a sugar industry museum.

Considered one of the most modem libraries in provincial Queensland, this $2.8m public facility was officially opened on Friday, April 29, 1994. In addition to borrowing, the library features a Kids' Story Telling Pit - a colourful entertainment area for children; Parents' Lounge with nappy changing tables and areas where babies can be fed; quick reference guides and access to titles sought by students; wheelchair access from street and carpark and an interior (space and book shelf height) suited to those in wheelchairs; a wide selection of sub-titled videos for people with hearing difficulties; reading and study areas; microfilm research facilities; 2500 "talking books" are available for the visually impaired.
Bundaberg Cooperage - The Barrel House
Here you can see the Coopers at their work. Demonstrations daily. Handcrafted American Oak kegs using traditional coopering skills. Kegs - Garden Tubs - Spa Tubs, All Wooden Vessels made and repaired. Open Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm Saturday & Sunday 9am - 3pm.
