The Bundaberg Regional Council is taking its obligations to the environment very seriously, particularly in the field of Waste Management. To this end Council has built a state-of-the-art Waste Management and Recycling Facility, including a Transfer Station, at its Waste Disposal Site in University Drive.
The opening times are from 6:00 am to 5:45 pm, 7 days a week.
The Council Waste Management Facility now accepts waste in seven (7) different categories, of which five (5) are entirely or partly recycled. In order to help Council get maximum effect from this, residents and businesses are requested to separate their waste into these categories when bringing waste to the Waste Management facility in University Drive:
1. Trees, Branches and Vegetation (recycled where possible) 2. Concrete and Demolition Waste (buried) 3. Waste Oil (Engine Oil & Cooking Oil) (recycled) 4. Steel and other Metals (recycled) 5a. Traditional Recyclables (Cardboard, Glass, Plastic etc.) 5b. Trash & Treasure Recyclables (Available for sale) 6. General Waste (buried) For further information please contact Council's Waste Management Service on 07 4155 1697 or email us.
BIN PLACEMENT HINT: To provide an effective and efficient bin collection service, Council would like residents to place their wheelie bins out for collection at least one metre apart, and at least one metre from any other object (e.g. trees, poles etc.) and not obstructed by cars, etc.
