Council has developed a draft Mangrove Management Plan to establish a procedure for mangrove management within the City reaches of the Burnett River. The plan endeavours to retain mangrove growth while allowing varying control methods to be used in public access areas.
A draft Plan has now been prepared and is open for inspection at the Civic Centre and Library, it is also available for download from this page.
Council welcomes any written submissions on the Draft Mangrove Management Plan which should be received by Monday, 14th November, 2005.
