Sasser Worm
The Sasser worm infects Windows 2000/XP computers but it can still run on Windows 95/98/Me computers. Two notible side-affects of the virus are
significant performance loss (slow computer) and computer randomly restarting. The virus also attempts to spread to other computers by scanning randomly
selected IP addresses for vulnerable systems.

Beagle Worm
The Beagle worm infects Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP/Server 2003 and has many variants, W32.Beagle.X@mm being one of the lastest. The worm has its own
built in SMTP engine, therefore, the virus can spread to other computers via email or network shares without your knowledge. The virus finds email
addresses by searching your computer and any mapped drives you may have. The email's From, Subject, Body, and attachment vary and the attachment may also
vary in file extension but a .zip extension is most common.

Netsky Worm
The Netsky worm infects Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP/Server 2003 and has many variants, W32.Netsky.AB@mm being one of the lastest. The worm has its own
built in SMTP engine, therefore, the virus can spread to other computers via email without your knowledge. The virus finds email addresses by searching all
non-CD-ROM drives. The email's From, Subject, Body, and attachment vary and the attachment has a .pif extension.

About Us
The Management Information Systems (MIS) team administers the Bundaberg City Council computer network.
This extensive network includes a diverse range of locations from the library and arts centre through to various
utilities located around the city such as the water/sewer treatment plants.
Some of our favourite computer tools we use include:
- Linux: for our development & desktop environment,
- the GIMP: for Button making and photo editing,
- PostgreSQL: for relational Databases,
- PHP (Pre-Hypertext Processor): for Web Page creation,
- Open Office: for document/PDF creation
Search Statistics
Since adding search capabilities to the Bundaberg City Council website there has been thousands of searches
and over this period the Top Five searched terms are:
- Employment
- Maps
- Rates
- Accommodation
- Airport
Page Statistics
Over the last twelve months the usage or number of hits for the Bundaberg City Council website
has been steadily increasing. As you can see from the graph below the number of hits in March 2004
has the most hits of any other month.
