Facilities and Access
There are two entrances to the Bundaberg Arts Centre. The main entrance is off Barolin Street via stairs. Prams and wheelchairs can use the ramp located on the park side of the Arts Centre, to the left on the main entrance.
The Access Studio is the workshop area on the first floor that is utilised for the Arts Centre's public programs. It is a large tiled area with some available equipment such as a printing press and pottery wheels. Individuals and groups can access the use of this space through negotiation with the Arts Centre Coordinator.
The Centre Shop features artwork from local artists such as glassware, ceramics and cards. Items are regularly changed and often include items available for sale as part of an exhibition.
In order to protect artworks, food and drink are not permitted in the Arts Centre other than for organised functions. The park adjacent to the Bundaberg Arts Centre has limited seating and food and drink can be consumed there.
Gallery One is the main space on the ground floor of the Arts Centre and is for major solo and group shows or touring exhibitions. The Vault Contemporary Art Space is adjacent to Gallery One. It is an old bank vault that is used for contemporary installations and small scale exhibitions. Gallery Two is primarily used as an emerging space for local artists, for group shows and smaller touring exhibition.
The Bundaberg Arts Centre's Gallery One and Access Studio Spaces are available for hire for functions held by community organisations, government and businesses. An official request in writing to use the space including details of the event and public liability cover must be submitted to the Arts Centre Manager for processing through Council.
Regulated parking is available adjacent to the Arts Centre. Disability car parking is available on the Quay Street side of the building.
The Bundaberg Arts Centre does not permit any public photography in the gallery. Repeated UV light exposure and copyright issues make photography of artworks a real issue for galleries. Special permission can be sought for educational use and promotions. Please speak to staff before taking any photographs.
Ladies and Gents toilets are provided at the Arts Centre. Baby change tables are available in both the Ladies and Gents facilities. Wheelchair accessible toilets are provided on the ground floor of the Arts Centre.
